The unbridled, chaotic racing of Split Second takes place within the framework of a reality TV show. Disney Interactive's latest trailer offers a glimpse at the production side of Split Second, with workers readying traps for detonation by racers in a downtown setting. Also in this video, a dumptruck-hauling helicopter smashes into speeding cars, a bus explodes, and a bridge is destroyed. That's what I call racing.

One of the biggest exclusive titles for the PS3 early on was Heavenly Sword. Though the game suffered from some rather wonky Sixaxis controls, it saw a not-terrible critical reception. Ninja Theory, the developer of the game, has revealed that the game resulted in no prosperity.
“It's difficult. Heavenly Sword came out pretty early on the PS3, and we sold, I think, a million and a half copies, and that's still not enough as an independent studio to break even," said Tameem Antoniades... |

PlayStation 3 owners tend to appreciate firmware updates, most of which add functionality or streamline the user experience. Not the case for the newest update (v3.21), which appears to have the sole purpose of removing one of the more unique features of the original PlayStation 3. The firmware update, scheduled to launch on April 1, will “disable the ‘Install Other OS’ feature that was available on the PS3 systems prior to the current, slimmer models.” Patrick Sybold, Sr. Director... |

DICE released Battlefield 1943 last year and set the bar for what a downloadable multiplayer game could be. It’s since become the fastest-ever game to hit one million units sold on Xbox Live Arcade. That’s quite the accomplishment, and enough to steal the title from Castle Crashers.
“The reception of Battlefield 1943 continues to amaze us, even months after the game was released,” says Gordon Van ***, Battlefield 1943’s producer. “Being the fastest game to reach this milestone... |

Left 4 Dead fans were happy to hear that they’ll be able to meet up with the original team in the upcoming Left 4 Dead 2 DLC, The Passing. But some of those fans will undoubtedly be disappointed, as Valve has revealed that one of the members won’t survive their trip down south.

In the second update this month, EA reminds us again that DICE made a really good game. We’ll allow a certain degree of self-flattery in this case, as its true – Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is one of Game Informer’s favorite titles of 2010 thus far.
This morning EA sent some updated facts and figures our way, noting that Bad Company 2 is the best-selling March release on record in North America and Europe. Released on the second of the month, sales have already eclipsed 2.3 million... |
