D’Angelo accused of soliciting prostitute

d_angelo11NEW YORK - Authorities say D'Angelo was caught in New York City trying to pay $40 for sex with an undercover cop posing as a prostitute.

Police said Monday that the 36-year-old R&B singer was arrested early Saturday while behind the wheel of his Range Rover.

D'Angelo's real name is Michael Archer. He says in a statement that he pleaded not guilty and plans to fight the charge. The statement says the singer hopes the public will "allow the American justice system to resolve the matter...

guruThe hip-hop community was devastated yesterday (March 1) when news broke that Guru, the celebrated rapper from ’90s duo Gang Starr, suffered a heart attack.

On Monday, hip-hop radio personality Miss Info reported that Guru (born Keith Elam) experienced a cardiac arrest and was in a coma, but would be undergoing surgery soon.

The midmorning blaze shut down a Lower Manhattan court for the day, postponing the rap star’s court date among other proceedings, courts spokesman David Bookstaver said.
