Orange's Onuaku to miss first round

The big man will not play when the No. 1 seed Orange meet Vermont in the first round on Friday evening, and coach Jim Boeheim labeled Onuaku "doubtful" should Syracuse advance to a second-round game on Sunday.

Derek Anderson and Cardinals agree to 2-year deal

golf_u_anderson_200The Arizona Cardinals and former Cleveland Browns quarterback Derek Anderson have agreed to a two-year contract worth $7.25 million, a source told ESPN.com Wednesday.

The source said the deal includes $3.25 million guaranteed, and with incentives would max out at $18.25 million.

Anderson would compete with current Cardinals quarterback Matt Leinart for the starting job.

Anderson was released by Cleveland on March 9, ending an uneven five-year stint with the team.

ron_wash Texas Rangers manager Ron Washington apologized Wednesday for using cocaine during the 2009 season and will voluntarily submit to additional testing by Major League Baseball in the future.

Washington told the club he used cocaine and offered to resign as soon as he was randomly selected for a drug test by MLB. Club president Nolan Ryan, general manager Jon Daniels and other officials decided not to accept the offer after they were convinced that Washington had used cocaine just once.

Kansas City signed running back Thomas Jones to a two-year deal worth $5 million, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
